★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The coffee here was good, but there are better options in Kyoto. The service is slow and may appear friendly, but isn't. Two days in a row, they refused to let us order anything more than drinks. The first day was late afternoon and we thought they said no because we had gotten coffee to go and the sandwich wasn't available like that. The staff didn't say that, just told us we couldn't have that at the moment and sorry. The next day we came late, about 5 minutes to 11. They gave us a full menu and when I tried to turn the page, a server stopped me and said "only this page right now." That page was just drinks and I wanted a sandwich Still the people next to us got sandwiches ten minutes later. Not sure what we did, but we didn't go back again.

Great old building - this atmosphere is why I like Kyoto.
