「気賀関所を通行するためには、この町の人々さえ、通行手形が必要でした。しかも、夕方６時には門が閉められ、朝は６時にならないと開けられなかったため、大変不便でした。そこで｢犬くぐり｣と呼ばれる抜け道が作られ、犬が通る道として黙認されたのだそうです。」
