Since scorched earth has been excavated from this area, it is presumed that this area is a castle ruin, and there is nothing other than the stone monument of the castle ruin.
After the Battle of Okehazama, when the Tokugawa clan advanced into this area, the local residents rebelled and fought, but in the end, they were defeated by the Tokugawa clan and all the male residents were decapitated and went to the riverbank. There is a sad story about being lined up.

It was only a stone monument.
It is very dangerous because there are many traffic on the road and many cars are flying.
Did you stop traffic when shooting NHK?

In 1569 during the Warring States period, Horikawa Castle was attacked by Ieyasu Tokugawa and fell. Ieyasu brutally killed 500 castle soldiers and 700 inhabitants, mostly peasants and townspeople, for a total of 1,200 people. It is said that the chief priest of Daienji Temple, which was on the opposite bank across the Miyakoda River at that time, saw the burning Horikawa Castle and said, "I will hold a memorial service for the spirits of the Horikawa territory with death" and settled in the nearby Dainichi Pond. I am. In the NHK TV drama "Naotora: The Lady of the Castle", the battle of Horikawa Castle was depicted, though it was quite soft.
The record of Hikozaemon Okubo says, "Both men and women were stroked," and the alley called "Gokumon Nawate," which executed 700 male and female residents and exposed their necks, is sad. It still remains in the town of Kiga as a proof of history.

I went there on August 5, 2020.
The first time you use everyone's navigation
I think that the purpose has become the right side
Time passed once and U-tan somewhere
It is easier to stop the car if you do.
There is quite a lot of traffic, so get on and off
Please be careful.
Is it for beginners?

It is the ruins of the Imagawa clan, which was dropped by Ieyasu Tokugawa during the Warring States period.
Ieyasu Tokugawa, who became independent of the Imagawa clan after the Battle of Okehazama in 1560, unified the Mikawa region, which was the Imagawa territory, in 1566, and then proceeded to invade Totomi in line with Shingen Takeda's invasion of Suruga (with Shingen). Ieyasu is said to have had a secret agreement to divide the Imagawa territory).
This was a military base set up by Imagawa to counter Ieyasu's invasion of Totomi.
The location is surrounded by Lake Hamana and the Miyakoda River, and it is assumed that the surrounding area was a wetland. Especially when the tide of Lake Hamana was high, it functioned as a natural moat.
Currently, there are no remains (the ruins of a castle are also a fixed place in the first place), and only Kubizuka remains.
Why Kubizuka? According to tradition, in 1569, not only the samurai of the Imagawa clan but also the local residents stood up against the attacking Ieyasu Tokugawa (the Imagawa clan is said to have been quite a good government), so women. About 1,000 non-combatants, including children, were killed.
I wouldn't have to do anything like that, but Ieyasu was the unification of Mikawa, and Ikko-ikki divided the vassals into two (Ikko-Ikki, who was a slaughterhouse, and Masanobu Honda were hostile to Ieyasu). There was a history of being troubled by, and I experienced firsthand that non-combatants could not be underestimated. Therefore, it is presumed that it does not leave the worries of the patronage.
At the time of this war, Ieyasu was still adolescent at the age of 26, but at this time he had his own wife and children (Lady Tsukiyama and Nobuyasu Tokugawa), and it was quite a guess.
