It is the original thing that Tachibana Machiyo who is wife of Fujiwara unanimity, etc. made it to ask Yukimoto after the death of her husband. There is Nishien-do in the west, and also a hexagonal-dove built in the east by his daughter Empress Komitsu.

As you walk up the hill on the left of Sankei-in, located in the northwest of Horyuji, where the corridor surrounds the main hall and the five-storied pagoda, you will see about 30 steps of stone steps.
It is the west circle hall of the octagonal circle hall which is the same as Yumeden that is built on the stone steps. This Yume-den is famous for its regular octagonal architecture in Horyuji.
It is said that a Buddhist priest, Yoriki of the Nara period, who was known for breaking the ban and spreading Buddhism to the people, was created.
There are few visitors to visit Nishien-do, and it is said to be the quietest place in Horyuji.
"The temple is another world from the outside world".
There is a theory that "the place to think of things quietly leaving the temple", but in that sense it may be said that it is the most temple-like place among Horyuji.
The present hall was rebuilt (National Treasure) during the Kamakura period, but the Yakushi Nayara who was enshrined in the hall was at the time of foundation.
It is said to be a masterpiece of the Nara period.
It has also been a mecca for folk religion since ancient times. In particular, the popularity of the demon chase ceremony held every year on February 3 is high and has attracted a large number of staff.
It is said that the scene where demons throw burning torches to the staff members is the highlight of the demon ceremony, and that many people are willing to expose themselves to the torches, saying that they will not get sick if they take the torch powder.
Seinendo Yakushi Nyura gathers more strong folk beliefs than the same Yakushi Yorai in Horyuji Kanado, and in the former hall there are no items such as swords, spears and mirrors that have been donated in the hope of no illness, longevity and longevity. It is said that it was put.
Those items are now stored in the warehouse. If the dream hall is where Shotoku Shota dreamed, then it may be said that Nishi-en-do is a place where countless unnamed people have dreamed.

Saiendo. It is an octagonal hall, like Yumeden (national treasure), Seizan-ji (national treasure), and Hokuendo (national treasure). There are no explanations, but there are statues of Yakushi Nyorai (National Treasure), General Junigami, Kannon Senju, and Statue of Fudo Myoo.

Nishiendo, which was founded in the Kamakura period, and Yakushi Nyorai sitting statue
It's a national treasure, but I'm surprised that there are extremely few visitors.
That's why you can watch it slowly.

It is said that the Nishi-en-do of Horyu-ji was built during the Yoro period (717-724), and the current temple was rebuilt in the second year of its construction (1250). The sitting statue of Yakushi Nyorai, the principal idol, is a deactivated dry and wet statue from the Nara period and is designated as a national treasure.
There is a red stamp.

This Nishi-en-do is famous for Yakushi Nyorai, but I was very attracted to Senju Kannon, who is on the right side. Maybe I was called ... I came up with the unseen Senju Kannon of a temple on the Cambodian-Thailand border that I want to visit someday ...

It is an octagonal hall standing on the stairs at the northwestern end of Horyuji Temple.
There is a Yakushi Nyorai in the hall.
The bell of Shiki Masaoka's "If you eat a persimmon, the bell will ring, Horyuji Temple" seems to be a bell that tells you when it is here.
It is located slightly higher than the others, so you can overlook the five-storied pagoda and the Kondo.

It had a bell to tell the time. The sound that echoes throughout the precincts is surprising even if you know that you will hear it nearby. (It seems that the general public cannot make it ^ ^)
It is a temple located a little up the stairs. I could see the scenery in the distance. It went up slowly from Horyuji station to the precincts, but it is surprising that you can see up to this point. Is it because there are no tall buildings?
