★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 市電にもかかわらず、ホームがかなり広いです。日本中の市電を乗りましたが、こんなにきれいで行き先も分かりやすい駅はなかなか無いです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 市内線である本線の終点（一番西）の停留場かつ宮島線の起点の駅でもあります。
かつては市内線の停留場は己斐電停と称し、宮島線の駅とは隣接する別の駅とされていましたが、市内線と宮島線との直通運転が始まり、平成3年からはほぼすべての電車が直通運転するようになりました。
現状の広島電鉄の公式案内・駅名標等はすべて「広電西広島」で統一されているものの、電車の方向幕には西広島（己斐）と表記されています。
これから広電ストアも解体され、西広島駅開発が始まるでしょうね。こちらの駅構造もまた変化するでしょうね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 広島電鉄宮島線と旧市内を走る本線とを結ぶ。現在の宮島線を走る電車は、ほとんど旧市内へと直通運転する。
ホームはフレーム構造の大きな屋根で覆われている。現在、隣接していたひろでん会館を解体工事中。
広電はJRより幅広い標準軌を採用しているのと、営業距離が短いこともあり、JRが不通になるような悪天候でも元気に走るのがええところ。
宮島線は1991年までは、高床電車（鉄輪がJR線並みにでかい）が走行し、宮島線の各駅ホームは、現在生き残っている低床電車用の低いホームと高床電車用の高いホームが繋がる構造だった。
広電は、1982年のドルトムント電車（現在、佐伯区のイオンモール「ジ アウトレット広島」にて屋内展示中）、1989年にドイツのハノーバー市から送られた車両（通称:ハノーバー電車）、1999年のドイツの重電メーカー、ジーメンス社製の超低床電車グリーンムーバ5000の新規導入など、かなりのドイツ贔屓である。しかし、かっちょええからOK牧場。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 12月27日に初めて利用しましたが、エレベーターもエスカレーターもあり凄く歩きやすいです。
木の匂いがして新鮮でした。

綺麗に改装されました。
かなり前は 己斐駅（こい駅）
とも言ってましたし、路面電車の
行き先にも[己斐]と有る電車を
覚えてます。
徒歩で直ぐJＲの西広島駅も有り
便利です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 改装工事が終わり、非常に開放的で小綺麗な空間になった。路面電車ホームヘ入る手前にはオープンエアーの小洒落たカフェが出来ており、カフェ利用者で無くても利用できる小さな公園スペースも有るので、待ち合わせスポットとしても最適。
