★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 【比賣神社】（ひめがみじんじゃ）は本神社東側の鳥居から１０ｍほど東、新薬師寺のすぐ東南に鎮座されています。御祭神は、十市皇女。古来より「高貴の姫君の墓」比売塚（ひめづか）として伝えられていた所で、昭和５６年（１９８１年）より十市皇女（とおちのひめみこ）を祭神として祀られるようになっています。十市皇女の父君は、大海人皇子（後の天武天皇）、母は額田姫王。天智天皇の皇子、大友皇子（後の弘文天皇）の妃であり、葛野王の母です。

新薬師寺の両脇を神社が支えているような印象です。
新薬師寺付近にも駐車場はあるので、車で訪れる事も出来ます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 比賣神社（ひめがみしゃ）。御祭神は十市皇女（といちのひめみこ）。弘文天皇の妃であり、天武天皇と額田王の子でもあります。壬申の乱は愛する夫と父との戦争であり、さぞ苦労されたことと思いますが、乱の6年後に自らも謎の死を遂げます。（自殺説があります）天武天皇は声をあげて泣かれたと伝えられています。母である額田王もまた泣かれたことでしょう。

本殿 - そんなに大きな社ではありませんが、可愛らしくて女性の神様らしい雰囲気です。
比賣塚は古くから「高貴の姫君の墓」と語り伝えられており、天武天皇6年（678年）4月14日に十市皇女（とおちのひめみこ）を、天武天皇10年（682年）に氷上娘を「赤穂」の地に葬った記録されています。
十市皇女は、天武天皇の第一皇女で母は額田王。大友皇子（弘文天皇）の正妃です。それにしてはあまりにも小さな比賣塚なので気の毒な感じがします。
ただし良縁を願う女性に御利益抜群とか。
