★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石像は見上げる程な高さでどっしりと安定感と存在感があります。
そんな大きな石像が周囲の自然景観を織りなす広い鳥取駅北口のほぼ中央の広場に建っています。
周囲は樹木や花壇の植え込みに包まれた石畳遊歩道上で多くの市民がベンチに腰を下ろし憩います。
(石の平和の祭壇)は最上部の祭壇の真下の石塊と次の下の石塊がほんの僅かにずれ合って重なっています。
石像中央部にはその結果、四角な穴もずれ合って重なります。
穴はもう一つ中央部上方の祭壇の下に穿たれて、双方の穴は共に向こう側が見通せます。
石像(石の平和の祭壇)は閉塞感は微塵も感じられず、ずれと穴から向こう側が見通せる表現で重厚でありながらも加えて一層な開放感と平和を祈る祭壇をイメージしています。
棲みついた数羽の鳩が樹木の枝から枝へ戯れに飛び交い、石像の一番最上部の平らな祭壇の上にも遠慮なく止まり集まっています。
石像はすっかり自然の中に文字通り(平和)に溶け込んでいます。

The stone statue (altar of stone peace) does not have a feeling of blockage, and the expression that the other side can be seen from the gap and the hole is profound, but in addition, it is an image of an altar that prays for a further sense of openness and peace.
Several pigeons that have settled in are flying from branch to branch, and do not hesitate to stop and gather on the flat altar at the top of the stone statue.
The stone statue literally blends into nature (peace).
