★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 境内に置かれている由緒書によれば、かつて一帯を支配した平群氏の祖先とされる武内宿禰が、神功皇后と共に朝鮮へ出陣する際に、戦勝祈願のために建立したとのこと。
小さいながらもかなりの歴史がある神社で、綺麗に管理されています。
社務所は普段は無人であるようで、書き置きの御朱印と絵馬が、拝殿の机に置かれています。
近鉄生駒線を利用して訪れる場合、平群駅ではなく竜田川駅から辿った方が、若干近いですし、経路も解りやすいです。
なお、当社から西へ行けば、横穴式石室を有し、内部を見学できる西宮古墳があります。

・御朱印は社務所ではなくお賽銭箱の隣に箱があり、その中に書き置きのものがありました。箱の中に入っている小袋の中に100円を入れて、お賽銭箱の中に投函するようです。御朱印の日付けは『令和○年 ○月 吉日』となっていました。
・その箱の中には絵馬も入っており、こちらも御朱印と同じように小袋の中にお金を入れて、お賽銭箱の中に投函するようです。絵馬は500円と記載されていました。
・本殿を背にした右手側にはおみくじを引くところもありました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平群の祖神を祀る式内社大社ということで期待して参拝しました。
現在の御祭神は大山祇神です。
古い集落の中にあるので道が狭く車を停めるのに苦労しました。
神社の駐車場はたくさんあるみたいですが、あまり案内がありません。地元の方しかお参りに来ないのかもしれません。
それでも合格祈願の御札などが結びつけてあったので勝負の神様になっているようです。
今も崇敬者の多い神社だと思いました。

Since it is in an old village, the road is narrow and I had a hard time stopping the car.
It seems that there are many parking lots at the shrine, but there is not much guidance. Maybe only locals come to visit.
