フナや鯉が良く釣れました。訪問時も釣り人が竿を垂れていました。
宝泉寺池の名前の由来は、当池の付近に存在した宝泉寺（廃寺）に起因している様です。
今は、周辺で宅地化が進み、パチンコ屋の駐車場で埋め立てられてしまいました。
感覚的にですが、半分くらいの面積になっているのではないかと思われます。体が小さい時だったので、余計にそう感じます。
池は、1704年（宝永元年）7月の関東洪水によって形成されたみたいですね。昭和22年のカスリーン台風の水害で池が出来たと思い込んでいましたが、間違って覚えていたようです。電柱にカスリーン台風の時の水没した水位が記録されているので、その事と混同してしまったようです。

The pond seems to have been formed by the Kanto flood in July 1704 (Hoei 1). I was thinking that the pond was created by the flood damage caused by the Typhoon Kasleen in 1922, but I remembered it by mistake. It seems that this was confused with the fact that the telephone pole recorded the water level that was submerged during the Kaslin typhoon.

父親は、子供の頃、池は透明で夏は潜って遊んだそうです。カスリン台風で出来た池ですが、今は釣りをする人達で管理されてるようです。管理者はわかりません。
