★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 小塙の集落のクネクネとした狭い径から右カーブに落ち葉の参道が走り、鳥居、そして社が鎮座していらっしゃいました。さて、なんと紹介すれば良いものか、御祭神も社名から推測するばかりで、御由緒もさっぱり・・・で、ネットで検索しましたところ、なんと平将門公の由来であるという情報が。将門公がここ小塙にあった政所を攻め、それを縁として妙見宮（妙見八幡宮）を建立されたとか。ご存じのように将門公は妙見（北斗七星）菩薩大好き人間です。八幡神は源氏の守護神（まあ、将門公の時代は平氏と源氏がはっきり敵対関係とはなっていなかった頃です）ですが、いつしか八幡神とくっついて、やがて八幡神社となったのかも知れませんが、真実は歴史の闇の彼方に紛れていってしまいました。
