★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An excellent choice even if you do not stay at any of the nearby hotels. I stayed at Dormy Inn which was just round the corner and stumbled upon it. There is English menu though not everything is available. Hotpot was great, and I enjoyed all the grilled stuffs as well. I did what others did and ordered a hinepon which was on the local Himeji specialty section but it was too tough for my taste. Other than that everything I tried was fantastic. Local sake Shirasagi (white egret) was excellent and so was the plum wine torotoro. And the old Japanese songs playing on the radio .. Great atmosphere! By the way, I was there on a Monday evening at 5pm and the counter section was filled very fast. I saw groups and groups of Japanese going up the stairs where there are more seats. Go early to avoid disappointments.

The plate of sashimis were quite good. We also took lotus root, the oden (tasty !) and the inepon chicken.
It wasn't pricey at all and we ate a lot. We are really satisfied. Great job !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You gotta try their fish and cheese, its a combination I never had before and apparently they nailed it.
And the tuna with green onion was amazing too, i liked that i had to roll sushi myself.
