The Gyokudo next to it has no ceiling board and you can see how it is made.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 奈良時代、行基により創建されたとされる真言宗の古刹です。地図上の位置は「本坊」で、本堂である「観音堂」は本坊から50mほど東の、古い石段を上った所にあります。観音堂は江戸時代の1713年に再建され、当時は芽葺きでしたが、明治期に瓦に葺き替えられました。
添付写真は石段と本堂の観音堂ですが、岩松寺を訪れたらぜひ観音堂まで足を伸ばしてください。
It is an ancient temple of the Shingon sect that is said to have been built by Gyoki in the Nara period. The location on the map is "Honbo", and the main hall "Kannon-do" is located about 50m east of Honbo, up the old stone steps. Kannon-do was rebuilt in 1713 during the Edo period, and was bud-roofed at that time, but was replaced with roof tiles during the Meiji period.
The attached photo shows the stone steps and the main hall of Kannon-do, but if you visit Iwamatsu-ji, be sure to visit Kannon-do.
