★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 参照）宮城の最南西部に位置し、江戸時代には奥州と羽州を結ぶ道が七ヶ宿街道と称され、七つの宿場があった事が町名の由来となった七ヶ宿町。慶長五年（1600）、白石城を攻略した伊達軍はこの七ヶ宿の湯原館を攻め、二井宿峠に程近い玉ノ木原で上杉軍と戦いました。
