新田義貞公挙兵伝説の地「生品神社」のそばにあるお寺。
この新田市野井地区にはかつて勝光寺、福蔵院、最勝院の三ヶ寺があったそうだ。明治五年に福蔵院は最勝院に移転し合併、大正ニ年には勝光寺を合併、大正四年に現在地に移転したそうだ。
御朱印は一律書き置き対応。

It is said that there used to be three temples, Shokoji, Fukuzoin, and Saishoin, in the Noi district of Nitta City. Fukuzoin moved to Saishoin in 1897 and merged, Shokoji was merged in Taisho 2 and moved to the present location in 1918.
