★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I flew into Japan this morning and was craving my Unagi fix. I came into Fukinuki ready for anything. Luckily, their food and service did not disappoint.
I had the Kiku (extra-large) Unajyu and was left completely satisfied. Their unagi was perfectly cooked and lightly smokey, the rice was perfect and provided a nice supporting role to the unagi.
When I come back to Japan I might treat myself to Fukinuki again because it was phenomenal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the location and decorations is very good because simple and bright. the eel have two kind plain grill and source. I like plain grill is original taste pair beer or sake will go to heaven. sources eel is traditional with rice also very good. the restaurants for family is very suitable but not cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A different style of eating Unagi . High price but well worth , quality food and drinks. Superb service. In a discreet corner so getting a seat is easy compared to popular places during meal times.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Choose the round bowl set which will come with all the ingredients for you to try the all the 3 traditional ways to enjoy the eel. See my photos which has the instruction. I have order the medium one (ie the second cheapest set). See the photo for the portion. Come earlier or later to avoid the queue. Enjoy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant specialises in grilled eels. The two eel sets we ordered were excellent in taste though expensive. Seating is comfortable and the view is fantastic for the tables close to the windows.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious unagi with rice. Must try the fried eel bone, limited to 1 order per table. Long queue. It will be faster for smaller groups, bigger groups recommended to split sitting for faster service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is definitely not the best unagi restaurant in town but definitely among the most expensive ones. The eel itself lacked both its supposed texture and flavor and the charcoal aroma. The most upsetting part was that the servers cleared out our table immediately once we finished our last bite and put down the chopsticks as if they wanted to shovel us out of the restaurant. This is so uncharacteristic of Japanese hospitality.
