Folklore of Ensho-ji Temple
It is said that Masaki Tokishige's Naginata, which is handed down at Ensho-ji Temple, is an honor for Masaki Tokishige to struggle with the ambush of Toki Yorinari, the lord of Manki Castle.
In this battle, Tokitaka, along with nine people in his hand, defeated more than fifty enemy soldiers with a naginata and dedicated them to the temple with blood dripping.
Quote / Reference: "Otaki Castle Story" by Kaneo Watanabe and Mitsuki Ichihara
At the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, Masayoshi Okochi, who became the last feudal lord of the Otaki feudal clan, became the governor of the former Shogunate army at the Battle of Toba-Fushimi, and left Osaka Castle to become a clan school outside the Yodo feudal clan. He set up the main team and took command in the team. However, the battle ended with the defeat of the former Shogunate army, and the departure of Shogun Yoshinobu from Osaka Castle further worsened the battlefield, and all of them retreated to Edo one after another in disappointment. Although he was a middle-aged man, he was forbidden to climb Edo Castle and was exempted from his post, so he headed for Otaki, a territory.
After the bloodless opening of Edo Castle, in April of the 4th year of the Meiji Restoration, about 2,000 troops led by Sakimitsu Yanagihara, Lieutenant Governor of the New Government Relief Army, traveled south through Sakura, Togane, and Mobara on the Boso Peninsula. When the new government troops settled in the post station in Chonan, the captain Higo feudal clan Yasukazu Yasuba (who is described by Katsu Kaishu as the first person under Yokoi Shonan) was appointed as a military ambassador. Dispatched. I handed over the unconditional surrender proclamation and waited for a reply. In Otaki Castle, the feudal lords and others held an all-night debate on whether it was Sakimitsu or Qin Wang, and the next day, they delivered a reply to Sakimitsu Yanagihara stating that they would surrender unconditionally and refrain from visiting the temple under Otaki Castle. As a result, as promised, Kōchi was reluctant to enter the temple in order to obey the new government forces.

It seems to be 670 years old. An old temple at the dead end in the back of the funeral hall.
The white snake that Mr. Osho brought back from China settles in Tashiro Falls and is subdued in Kanpei by sucking energy from the woodcutter's work and petrifying children.
You can read more about it in "The Great Snake of Enshoji" and "Weaving Girl of Tashiro Waterfall" by Yashiro Saito. It is a recommended local history reading material.
