★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very rude staff and overpriced. The food is ok-ish but not great. Location is nice though and they can definitely make something out of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desperate to offer a good dinner to my family on this thursday evening of August, everything almost was closed. Saw some light in a small street...here it was: great and good surprise for my teenagers, my wife and I. Very clean and friendly, some had sushimi & tempura, some had meat and vegies, everyone was happy... to the point where we made a reservation at the same place for the day after!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Agedashi tofu I've ever had. Accompanied with perfectly cooked tempura. Price definitely matches the quality.
Disappointing that this restaurant was empty and around the corner there were lesser offerings at similar price with people on a waiting list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food and very welcoming chefs. After searching for a place to eat dinner, we found this place in a small alley away from the main road. The salads are good and the "Tai" fish was excellent!
Wooden decor perfectly fits this restaurant, would recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is an awesome dining experience. This is a washoku and izakaya fusion cuisine (和食 + 居酒屋), so the portions are mostly size of a palm. Amongst the bad reviews of other restaurants on the island, this newly opened (Feb 2017) seemed to bring up the bar and I hope they continue the standard. There are 3 tables for 4 and about 10 bar counter seats.
The teriyaki conger (sea eel) was great. The Japanese rolled up omelette is made on the spot so it was served warm. Try the soy soup (its actually Japanese beans clear savory soup), warms up the stomach on cold weather.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Will call this upscale dining. Portions are small but very good. Atmosphere is excellent with a modern wood theme. We we're the only ones here on a Thursday night. Probably $50-60 for 2. Also open late which was the main contributor for us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely little restaurant away from the main tourist road. We loved its modern design and wooden furniture, making the atmosphere extra warm and cozy! The staff is young, discreet but also polite and professional. We had the best fried oysters, grilled eel and highball of our whole Japanese trip, and the portions were just perfect! It may be slightly more costly than the other restaurants on Miyajima, right. Still, Enishi is worth every penny considering it is a non-turisty restaurant in a very turisty island, providing a fine dining experience. Would definitely recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staying on Miyajima and need to eat after 4pm? Our ryokan (Sakuraya) didn’t offer meals, but recommended Enishi, so we checked it out. We ordered a lemon sour (quite good), a glass of white wine, a vinegar gobo/burdock dish that I forgot to take a photo of (I’m partial to gobo), a salad with chicken and mushrooms (we both liked this), an assorted sashimi plate, and a fried sesame tofu, and ochazuke. Nice quiet atmosphere and good service. Glad I’d called for a reservation because there are only three tables and we didn’t feel like sitting at the counter.
