ば	ばばしげ（馬場茂雄） on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 中尊寺など世界遺産・平泉や厳美渓への観光の玄関口となります。新幹線改札口と在来線改札口（西口）はずいぶん離れているので注意が必要です。駅前には駅コンビニとローソンくらいしかありません。飲食店は居酒屋を中心に点在しており軒数もかなり多めだと思いますが、駅前にはファーストフードやファミリーレストランはありません。複数のビジネスホテルがあり大手チェーンもあります。JR仙台駅からですと在来線を乗り継ぐよりも高速バスを利用するほうが便利だと思います。JR盛岡駅からは乗り換えなしの電車があります。 It is the gateway to sightseeing in Hiraizumi and Genbikei, which are World Heritage Sites such as Chusonji Temple.
