Y	YAMAZAKI “TOKYO” Ichiro on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 永福寺（えいふくじ）は、1522年の室町時代から続く歴史のある曹洞宗のお寺です。山門、本堂、鐘楼、庚申塔と地蔵尊、檀信徒会館があります。本尊は十一面観音像で、脇侍の不動・毘沙門両像とともに、鎌倉期の仏師快慶の手によるものと伝えられています。永福町の地名の由来になっていますが、1559年（永禄2年）に北条氏康が作成した「小田原衆所領役帳」に「島津孫四郎21貫文永福寺」とあり、永福寺が当時からこの地域の呼称とされるほど存在感と歴史があります。 Eifukuji is a temple of the Soto sect that has a long history since the Muromachi period in 1522. The principal image is an eleven-faced Kannon statue, which is said to have been created by Kaikei, a Buddhist priest of the Kamakura period, along with the statues of Fudo and Bishamon of the side samurai. It is the origin of the place name of Eifuku-cho, but in 1559 (2nd year of Eiroku), Hojo Ujiyasu created "Odawara Shushoshoshosho", which says "Shimadzu Sonshiro 21 Kanbun Eifukuji". Since that time, it has a strong presence and history that has been called the name of this area.

The temple was originally built around the start of the 16th century, apparently by people who fled Odawara after the fall of the Odawara castle. It suffered three disasters in 1593, 1738 and 1945. The deities on the temple include Kannon, Fudo and Bishamon. The are some nice weeping cherry trees in the yard that are beautiful around April.
