A	Angela Proffitt on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This small restaurant specializes in Kyoto style kaiseki. They are reservation and set courses only. Sets range from ¥5000 to ¥10,000, and the ingredients will change based on the price. If there's any food you dislike, just let them know during reservation! The menu and dishes change monthly so you can keep coming back. We got the ¥7000 course and was thoroughly impressed. The whole meal took two hours for 8 dishes. We went in July so a lot of summer ingredients. Some highlights were a homemade Gion festival float which held our food and a huge ice cube hand carved to hold our sashimi. Each dish was beautiful to the eye and palette. I tried many ingredients that I normally would not be brave enough to try at other restaurants. Many of the fish and vegetables are local and the hostess explained every single food item. According to the hostess (chef's wife), the chef went to a nearby town called Ine to catch and bring back the Snappers we had! The variety of food that came out and how each item is so delicate and obviously time consuming to create, really made me appreciate each bite. Both the hostess and chef were extremely kind and friendly. It was a culinary adventure that had me planning for the next time we can come back to this restaurant!
