Really a nice place for after work beers with colleagues! The beer variety in Craftsman is amazing. Some really fruity flavors, try your way through the different breweries. They also offer a variety of dishes, which all were very delicious and arranged nicely. Order some and share those with your friends. The sausages were simply amazing. Also really loved the grilled eggplant – reaaaaally good! In addition, I was very surprised by the celery mayo, which was served with the fries – next time I will definitely ask for more of this one! There are a couple of similar stores next to each other, I first accidentally walked into another restaurant.

My friend organized a dinner party so I went to Craftman Restaurant for the first time. There were a lot options for craft beer. There are a few from abroad such as Czech and Belgium, but mostly are from different regions in Japan. It is great place for a foreigner as me to try the local beers. There is also a combo manu for which you can choose three different craft beers with a reasonable price. I took that and then ordered my favorite of the three as the next drink. We had a course so I am not very sure about other food. The appetizer is very interesting and tasty. It is like western style sushi with foie gras, wrapped in seaweed, just like a Japanese sushi. The other dish I like the most is one with red beans and pumpkin source with cheese. It is also a creative and perfect combination of western and Japanese food. We also had squid in tempura (Japanese) with some western source, which was quite creative too. Everything was tasty. Have to mentioned that I liked the closing dish rice with coriander and small fish but some of my friends didn’t. The restaurant itself is not so big, but I has big tables for a big group of friends, as well as small individual seats, suitable for couples. The atmosphere was nice.

It's a good thing that craft beer places are getting more common in Tokyo. But now the problem is to find one that's worth your time. Craftsman in Gotanda is definitely worth your time. With a great range of craft beers sourced from breweries in Japan, the US, and Europe, you're bound to find a drink the quench your thirst. With the beer menu changing frequently, it's definitely a reason to revisit Craftsman to see what's new on tap. But you need something to go with your drink, right? Well the food they have matches the high quality beers they have. The menu has your regulars such as a cold meat plate, salads, and skewers. But all are done with a modern fusion twist that is successful and not pretentious. Fois gras sushi, pumpkin paste salad, and maguro skewers are just some of the items on the menu that you will recognise but then not as the differences make it something you will not have tried before. Hell, even the coriander rice with whitebait was good, and I don't like coriander! Short walk away from Gotanda station, Craftsman is definitely a solid place to checkout if you want to avoid the crush of nearby Shinagawa.

The best Japanese stylish food & craft beer: My first impression was that all the food wasn’t gonna fit the craft beer flavors, since it’s usually strong. But here it wasn’t that case, all the famous is perfectly done to match the huge variety of Japanese craft beers they have. One of my favorite was the entrance; a kind of sushi made with fish and rice.

Came here for dinner with friends recently and had a really enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting but it didn't feel cramped. Craft beer is established in Tokyo however it's not available just anywhere quite yet. If you're looking for a good craft beer, domestic or local, definitely check out Craftsman. I believe they had about 30 different beers on tap when we visited. You can order a small glass (200ml), regular glass (380ml), or a flight of three 150ml beers of your choice. Saisons, pale ales, IPAs, lagers, ciders, and more were all on tap. The food was fantastic as well. The menu at Craftsman is tapas-style so you can enjoy a variety of dishes while sipping a beer (or three.) A few of my favorite dishes are as follows: - Grilled albacore and smoked taro - Smoky, savory, and served on a skewer. Be sure to squeeze a little lime juice on it! Big flavor. - Winter melon fritto - Battered, fried, and served with squid ink. Had no idea melon could be incorporated into a savory dish. - Wild rice and red bean salad - Served with a generous smear of pumpkin puree. I'd consider going vegetarian if all salads tasted as good as this one. Craftsman is just a five minute walk from Gotanda station so if you're in the area (or already headed that direction on the Yamanote) don't hesitate to stop by for dinner.

I have been to Gotanda many times but never heard about this place but not I am so glad! They have a huuuuuge craft beer list, varying from Japanese to also foreign beers. Alongside this they have an extensive wine menu and they do cocktails also. The atmosphere is very relaxed inside and I like the lighting in the room as it makes you feel very cosy. All staff were very welcoming and the chef told us about the ingredients in all the dishes. They spoke English too and the menu had both English and Japanese! The presentation of the food was incredible (see photos for evidence). The colours and placement really stepped up the mark compared to other tapas style restaurants I have visited before. The sushi tapas with fois gras really started the meal off high and I knew that the rest of the menu would achieve this standard of taste. I can also honestly say that I haven’t had a salad in Tokyo that tastes as good as the red bean salad with pumpkin purée. All the meat and fish in the dishes were delicious and I could tell they were very high quality. I would recommend this location for business meetings/birthday dinners and as an alternative place to take visiting friends as it provides really amazing fusion food.

I went to this restaurant last week, it was an amazing dining experience. All the dishes I tried were delicious and creative, a plate was full of different types of ham was my my favorite!! If you come to here must try it! Restaurant atmosphere, environment and service were also amazing!! Restaurant atmosphere was very relaxing and open kitchen was great too. Our server explained every dish to us clearly and patiently. He also provided attentive and professional service to us. He also speaks good English so that we could have a wonderful dining experience, he anticipated our needs before we asked him. I will definitely go back again, highly recommend this restaurant!!

We started out with 2 tasting sets, which was made up by customers choice of 3 beers. In total we tried about 10 beers, local and international, which is awesome for people who love beer, but also great for people who aren’t exactly sure what they are looking for in a beer. The fries and dips were a delicious starter, we ordered a variety of food. The steak was outstanding! Easy location to access, fun atmosphere and very affordable!
