You reconstructed it before you knew it. I wanted to see stores that have a history of 118 years. . ..

The owner is afraid to come to the store, but when I talk to him, he is very kind and kind, and I am amazed. The smile is really nice ♡ Besides the towel, the original hand towel handkerchiefs are easy to dry and are useful in the summer. Please do not hesitate to talk to your husband, ask for recommendations, and have fun shopping!

I saw a newly built chome shop (Yanaka, Taito-ku) Photo I visited the long-established store "Clove shop" in Yanaka, which closed the store once in August 2012 and rebuilt the store house. Apparently it's currently closed, so here's a photo of when I visited in 2014. Photo Actually, I visited once before, but it was still under construction, so I couldn't see it because it was covered with a construction sheet. Photo o Since the location of the photo before rebuilding is unknown, I pasted the illustrated picture of Chojiya. Chokoya is a shop with a taste that survived the war. Photo When I stood in front of the chokoya, it was as if I had returned to Edo and the Meiji era. Photo It's a pretty and elegant store. Let's get closer. Photo It seems that the design is well done. Photo The door on the left is for entering and exiting the house, and the store seems to be on the right half. Unfortunately, I can't see the layout of the store and the display status of the products today. Photo The inside of the old Chojiya store was like this. There were dyed items such as towels and I enjoyed the Edo atmosphere, but what about the new store? Photo Since the clove shop is a dyeing and washing job, is the workshop in the back like this? I hear that washing is the work of removing stains on kimono. The Aizen River once flowed in front of the clove shop, and it seems that there were about three dye shops, but now it is only the clove shop. Photo This signboard was on the entrance of the old Chojiya. The new store is also at the entrance. Photo The sign on the roof is also from the old store.

The store building has been renewed, but it continues to have a nice selection and customer service. It seems that his predecessor's husband died while he couldn't come to Nezu in Corona. I miss the wonderful customer service full of hand towel love. The daughter who was poured after her is also a very nice customer service. Expectations for the future

While strolling around the area, I stopped by in a calm atmosphere and bought a book cover with a nice color and a smartphone case that can be hung from the neck (I heard the name but forgot it). Since the customer happened to be alone, I asked various questions, but he explained each one carefully. After leaving the store, I immediately put my smartphone on my neck and continued to walk in a good mood.

A very historical TENUGUI (traditional cotton towel in Japan) shop in Yanaka area. They have been doing business here more than 100 years. The shop is now rebuilt but still has the ambient of the former old house. The owner is very gentle, (a little shy) but he will help you to choose your favorite TENUGUI. It is made with a very unique dye process called "Chusen" meaning "color dye by pouring".

A shop with a collection of beautiful and original clothes with stunning patterns. This shop is very much well worth a detour to check out when near the Yanaka or Nezu areas.
