BLACOWS - Shibuya City

I have come to this place several times and have recommended it many times to my friends as well. I will never go back and will never recommend it to anyone again. Contempt and disregard for the client is insulting. They do not have a minimum of decency and professionalism. You can eat very good hamburgers in Tokyo, no need to waste your time here.

Superb interior and ambience. Love the details that they put into this store. Their burgers are also good. Owned by one of the famous yakiniku restaurants/meat company, their patties are very juicy and meaty. Soft buns, fresh veges. You will imagine something small with literally no meat in japan, but this place won’t disappoint you all.

A pretty tasty burger. Made with Japanese wagyu beef, the meat was super juicy and seasoned well. The toppings added just the right amount of balance to the overall taste. The fries were good and the beer was cold. The staff was friendly and the ambiance chill. Even though there are better burgers in Tokyo, this place is worth a visit.

TLDR; Excellent quality beef gets outshined by an overly complicated burger with too many competing sauces. Don't get me wrong, Blacows is a good burger restaurant and yes, absolutely high-quality. But if you're positioning yourself as a gourmet burger restaurant and I have to pay almost $25 for a burger and fries, it's going to up my expectations. I want to be "wowed". Was I? Read on. I came in on a Tuesday right when they opened for lunch and ordered what the menu says is the most popular item, "The Blacows Burger". To be honest, I was hesitant to order it because on the menu, it lists this as the topping: cheese, bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion sauce, tartar sauce and BBQ sauce. "3 different sauces?", I thought to myself. It sounded like overkill to me but I decided to trust the menu. From an aesthetic point-of-view, the Blacows Burger is a great looking burger and the overall presentation was excellent. But how is the flavor? Unfortunately, what I had anticipated came to fruition--the 3 different sauces (onion, tartar and BBQ) weren't complimenting each other, they were competing. Most of all, this mess of sauces didn't really make the excellent beef patty the star of the show. It was getting so lost in saucy flavors. My feedback to the Blacows is this: If you want to be known for high quality beef, then let the beef patty do the talking by removing all the sauces that don't allow to do that. I think the beef should be the focal point of the the burger and by removing the sauces, you would allow it to become that. It would really shine. Other than, this meal was pretty standard. The service at Blacows was great and the atmosphere within the restaurant was enjoyable. Would I come back here? Yes, absolutely, but next time I would ask for the sauces on the side. Other things worth noting: - You can pay with cash or credit card. - Out front, there is a store front where you can get burgers to go. To the right of the store is the door to the restaurant.

The best burger I had so far. You can choose either salad or fries for your side dish. They also have lunch menu for kids.

Delicious Burgers ?? I rarely give 5 stars because it means everything is perfect and there is no room for improvement. But 4 stars is too low for what i had here. Wish i could give it 4.5 ⭐ *My experience was from 2019-04

A fancy burger spot. They recently renovated the place when I went there. Perfect for a date night. The ambience was perfect. The burgers and sides were more on the pricey side compared to other burger places but taste was decent enough. Nothing overly special to say taste wise on the burger but we got a fancy looking potato salad which was intriguing to look at. Would reserve this place for special celebrations.

I enjoyed discovering a quality burger in a pleasant environment. The staff was attentive and prompt and their service was irreproachable. I ordered an avocado cheese burger and it looked appetizing with slices of avocado generously placed inside. The Kayser bun was crisp outside and mellow inside. The only reason why I did not think I would give it a five star rating is because the sauces were too strong and salty. They actually affected the original flavor of the meat combined with the avocado to the point that it was hard to really taste each individual ingredient. I would agree with a previous post in which the reviewer suggested to have the sauce(s) brought separately.
