Bingo-Ochiai Station - Shobara

I visited to conquer the Geibi Line. The transfer time from Shinmi to Miyoshi was only about 1 minute, and I was worried that I would not be able to transfer if there was a delay, but when I told the driver that I was transferring, I heard that there were customers who would transfer. I was relieved that the train arrived at Bingo-Ochiai without delay. About 10 years ago, thank you to the driver at that time.

An unmanned station that is a connecting station for the JR Geibi Line and Kisugi Line. It is also one of the unexplored stations. One of my personal favorite stations that I have visited several times since my first visit in September 2013. It was a transit station for the Geibi Line/Miyoshi direction, the same/Shinmi direction, and the Kizyu line and 3 directions. .. At around 14:30, there were times when the above-mentioned trains in the three directions were lined up at the platform, which was called a "miracle at 14:30" in a railway cartoon. You can see a relatively large number of passengers during this time and when the tourist train "Okuizumorochi" departs and arrives, but at other times, it is a very quiet atmosphere and a tasty station. .. The last time I visited was in late August 2019. We visited this station by taking the "Oku Izumo Orochi" from Kisugi station. After that, I visited Kametake Station on the Kisuki Line, and then returned to this station again to wait for the train leaving for the Niimi area departing at 20:00, in the evening, and to enjoy the atmosphere of this station at night. However, as the rain that had been raining from the morning had gradually increased, we decided that the Geibi Line could be canceled, so we changed the plan and returned to Kisuji at the back of the "Okuizumorochi" that I had boarded. After that, when I arrived at the accommodation destination Niimi Station by the limited express "Yakumo" that I got on from Shinji Station, the Niimi area of ​​the Geibi line (between Tojo and Bingo Ochiai) was out of service, so it was a correct decision. It was another opportunity to visit Bingo Ochiai Station at night, and I thought it would be this year or 2020, but I have to refrain from traveling outside the prefecture for the time being to prevent the spread of the new corona infection. I don't get it. When the new Corona settles down, I will definitely visit it again.

Recently, it seems that the number of fans is increasing at Hikyo Station in Hiroshima Prefecture, but I was feeling lonely. It is a branch station of the Geibi line and the Kisuki line, but even if both are combined, only about 10 trains come. The photo shows the last train at 8:12, but there were about three passengers on the turn back from the direction of Niimi, but everyone turned around without getting off. There is a drive-in Ochiai, which is famous for oden udon, just a short walk away. It is a dining room in the Showa era that survived the Reiwa era. 2021/4/24 I forgot to see the turntable, so I visited again. It was a turntable that had already decayed a long time ago, but it can be seen when the SL was running. It's very cute, but I wanted to come see it when it was in use.

We were able to hear about the switchbacks and turntables of volunteers who came by chance, and the stories of many staff members in the past. I wanted to stay a little longer, but if I missed the train, I would have too much time until the next train.

Carp while idling. It is monopolized including the home. I have to ride whatever my life, work, sightseeing, hobbies, and reasons. .. If you come by car, you can park several cars in front of the station entrance. It is surrounded by a white line. It's more like a parking space than a parking lot.

It is an unmanned station. It is a major station where the Geibi Line and Kisuki Line depart and arrive, but the number of trains in each direction is 5 or less per day, which is a quiet section. However, trains arrive from three directions only at 14:00 in the daytime, and it is crowded with tourists. There is a lot of nature around the station and there is nothing, but if you walk on the national highway in front of the station toward Bingo Shobara for about 15 minutes, there is a drive-in and you can eat.

I arrived at Bingo-Ochiai Station to catch the Kisuki Line and Geibi Line, but the spacious space that seemed to have prospered originally has a melancholy home. When I was looking at the exhibits in the station building while waiting for a transfer, a former engineer called me and it was a very good memory for me to talk about the history of the station with a diorama that reproduced the heyday. Due to the influence of snow, Izumo Yokota-Bingo-Ochiai on the Kisuki Line was a substitute bus and a substitute taxi, but there was no problem on time.
