2001年まではＪＲの駅員さんがいました。
跨線橋が老朽化し、いまは駅舎側のホームに上下の列車が発着します。

時々、学生さんが学校の取り組みか何かで、駅舎を掃除をする姿を見かけます。
1日の本数が少ないのが残念です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅自体は2面2線の構内を持つ駅だが跨線橋の老朽化で行き違いホームが使用出来ずそれでも信号機の機能だけが生きている不思議な駅。切符の委託販売が行われており駅のスタンプも管理されていた。陰陽連絡の使命も無くなり列車の接続も噛み合わないものもあって誠に利用しづらい路線である。駅前も驚くほど閑散としており広島方面の高速バスが発着しているとはとても思えない。
The station itself has a premises of 2 lines and 2 lines, but it is a mysterious station where the function of the traffic signal is still alive because the crossing bridge cannot be used due to the deterioration of the overpass. Tickets were outsourced and station stamps were also managed. It is a route that is very difficult to use because there is no mission to contact Yin Yang and some train connections do not mesh. The area in front of the station is surprisingly quiet, and I don't think there is a highway bus departing for Hiroshima.

市街地はひととおりなんでもありますが、付近はのどかな風景です。
駅前はひっそりとしています。
