結局、次の日も40℃以上なので、かかり付けの町医者さんに話したら、話を聞いた時点で「それは早く検査しなきゃダメだよ！」と慌てて血液検査したところ異常なウイルス量と白血球に異常値。町医者先生は厚木市立病院はもう信用できないと他の病院を紹介してもらって即入院。ほっといたらいけない肺炎だったようで、とりあえず１週間の入院になりました。
そもそも40℃が続くのにほっといたら、脳にまで影響の出る可能性もあるようで、本来ならその場で血液検査をすべきだったようです。
怒られてもいいから、まずいと感じたら救急車呼ぶなり、お医者さん変えるなり臨機応変に対応すべきと、教訓にはなりました。
