Ashio Station - Nikko

I would like to say that it is the closest station to sightseeing in Ashio Copper Mine, but it is different. The nearest station to Ashio Copper Mine is Tsudo Station. However, the route bus from Nikko goes to Ashio Copper Mine via Matou, Ashio, and Tsudo Station, so you can get off at Ashio. Conversely, it is possible to come by bus from Nikko without getting on the Watarase Valley Railway. It takes about an hour. The road itself is relatively good, so people who are prone to motion sickness may get motion sick on the mountain road, but since it is not a great mountain road, I think that most people are okay. Returning to Ashio Station, the area around this area is a shopping district, so I think visiting Ashio Copper Mine while looking at the cityscape is a great way to travel. Although the station is an unmanned station, the station building is excellent. There is also a sandbar platform in the back, which you can walk across. It's a very laid-back time, and it's off the national highway, so on basic weekdays only locals can drive, so it's a great place to put yourself in a quiet forest whisper. I visited on December 3rd and the temperature was 1 ° C. It came up from Omama, but the temperature around Omama is around 13 ℃.
