★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 関西方面からJR湖西線に乗って、気が向いた時にふらっと訪れる。そんな街のひとつが敦賀です。
福井県は恐竜の里として高名でしょうが、この駅でもそのPRをきっちりとやってくれていました。
日本海の幸をいただけるような海港センターまで足を伸ばしてもよし、気比神宮に参って多幸を祈願してもよし。
何かとホッとさせてくれる憩いの街でしょう。
 Take the JR Kosei Line from the Kansai area and visit when you feel like it. One such city is Tsuruga.
Fukui Prefecture is probably famous as a dinosaur village, but it did the PR exactly at this station as well.
You can go to the seaport center where you can enjoy the seafood of the Sea of Japan, or you can visit Kehi Jingu Shrine and pray for euphoria.
It will be a relaxing city that will make you feel relieved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅東側では北陸新幹線の駅舎と線路が建設真っ最中で、在来線の駅舎もきれいに整備されており新幹線駅が開業する時が楽しみです。ホームのベンチには恐竜が座っていて遊び心もある駅です。駅出て左の立体駐車場1階にはレンタサイクルもあり、効率的に敦賀市内を観光することができます。
On the east side of the station, the Hokuriku Shinkansen station building and railroad tracks are in the middle of construction, and the station building of the conventional line is also in good condition, so I am looking forward to the opening of the Shinkansen station. It is a playful station with dinosaurs sitting on the platform bench. There is also a rental cycle on the 1st floor of the multi-storey car park on the left side of the station, so you can efficiently tour the city of Tsuruga.

在来線の他に特急(サンダーバードやしらさぎ)が停車します。
駅舎は改装されて近代的な美しい建物になりました。現在、北陸新幹線の高架工事を急ピッチで進められていて2023年開通予定です。
It is a station that has been the gateway to Tsuruga, a port town for a long time.
Limited express trains (Thunderbird and Shirasagi) stop in addition to conventional lines.
The station building has been renovated into a beautiful modern building. Currently, the elevated construction of the Hokuriku Shinkansen is underway at a rapid pace and is scheduled to open in 2023.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北陸の玄関口にある巨大な拠点駅。関西方面、金沢方面からの特急列車が次々に発着します。北陸新幹線の敦賀延伸まであと２年ちょっと。大阪まではまだだいぶ先なので新幹線開業後は中継地として重要な役割を担い続ける事でしょう。駅舎は新しくスタイリッシュ!待合室は木の温もりが溢れていて大勢の人がゆったりくつろげるお洒落で落ち着いた雰囲気です。観光案内所、コンビニ、土産物店があり便利です。
A huge base station at the entrance of Hokuriku. Limited express trains from the Kansai and Kanazawa areas arrive and depart one after another. It's been a little over two years until the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Tsuruga. Since it is still a long way to Osaka, it will continue to play an important role as a relay point after the opening of the Shinkansen. The station building is new and stylish! The waiting room is full of the warmth of wood and has a stylish and calm atmosphere where many people can relax. It is convenient to have a tourist information center, a convenience store, and a souvenir shop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The station is currently prepare for Shinkansen. Outside was renovated and easy to get into the bus stop and taxi. However, it need more toilet in the station.
