『安養寺』の御本尊は阿弥陀如来立像で、八枚の蓮華（れんげ）を逆さに置いた台座に立っているのが特徴で、これから『倒蓮華（さかれんげ）寺』と呼ばれています。
御本尊を作る際に台座が壊れるため、蓮華を逆さにしたところ無事完成したと伝えられています。
また、女人は業が深く心の中の蓮華は逆さまとなっていて極楽往生出来ないと考えられていたため、これを救済するためわざと逆さにしたといわれています。
事前に予約をすると2階にある本堂で御本尊・阿弥陀如来像を拝観出来るそうです。
今回予約をしていなかったため、本堂の戸（ガラス戸）は締まっていて、ガラス戸の前から拝観しました。少し遠かったため逆さ蓮華はよく分かりませんでした。
次回は予約をして訪れ、御本尊を拝観し、御朱印をいただきたいと思っています。

It is said that the pedestal was broken when the principal image was made, so the lotus flower was turned upside down and completed safely.
In addition, it is said that the woman was deliberately turned upside down to relieve her because it was thought that the lotus flower in her heart was upside down and she could not go to paradise.
If you make a reservation in advance, you can see the statue of Amida Nyorai, the principal idol, at the main hall on the 2nd floor.
Since I didn't make a reservation this time, the main hall door (glass door) was closed and I saw it from the front of the glass door. I didn't really understand the upside-down lotus flower because it was a little far away.
Next time, I would like to make a reservation and visit to see the principal image and get a red stamp.
