★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 地元の案内看板に「藍染博物館」とあり、散歩がてらにちょっと期待して立ち寄ってみたが、単に藍染屋さんの敷地の片隅にある小さなプレファブ小屋で、当方が立ち寄ったときは、暖簾も出ていなかった。声をかけてみたけれど誰もいないようだったので、引き戸を開けて写真だけ撮ってきたが、これはさすがに「博物館」を名乗るのはいかがなものかと。
墨田区が無理矢理に「街かどの小さな博物館」に指定したのが強引なのではないかと。
 The local signboard says "Aizen Museum", and I was expecting it for a walk, but I just stopped by a small prefab hut in the corner of the Aizen shop's premises. Didn't. I tried to call out and it seemed that nobody was there, so I opened the sliding door and took only a photo, but I wondered why it would be true to call it a "museum".
I suspect that Sumida Ward was forced to specify it as a "small museum in the corner".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quaint little neighborhood. We were there during the off season. Season starts in march. Small museum but you need to realize the significance of what you're looking at. 3 generations of family craftsmen cutting intricate paper patterns by hand and dying indigo in every traditional sense. We met the artist and with help of translation, He explained his craft And showed us his studio. Very personalized and friendly. he showed us a piece that was 150 years old that was done by his great grandfather. Much better than the commercial studios. Well worth it!
