★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad service ever of the trip in Japan. The owner talked impolitely, and once you ask for the take-away menu, you can't even sit while you were waiting for your coffee. Also, you can drink the coffee in the cafe even you are waiting for another cup.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been twice and gotten great service each time. The food and coffee is excellent. Probably the 3rd best coffee in Kyoto prefecture after "% Arabica" and Unir. Definitely the best coffee in Uji city. I see lots of complaints about this place by other people, maybe they went when different staff were on shift than when I did. The two times I went it seemed like just the owner and his wife, who were very friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am gonna do him some justice. First of all, this is not a Japanese style coffee shop with the staff who will think you are a god or goddess. So nothing wrong with his attitude. Second, nice view of Uji River. The most importantly, he is such a baker who serves the best banana cake in the world! Thank you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So far, the least welcoming and friendly place I've visited in Japan. The tasty coffee and location are the only things that bring this review to a 3-star mark. Moreover, it's fairly overpriced. Won't be coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to this coffee shop for a couple Americanos this morning and left with a bad mood. We asked for take out coffee, and were brought scorching hot coffee that was impossible to drink or hold. We asked for an extra cup to be able to carry it, but the lady working in the coffee shop blatantly refused to give it to us. So we decided to sit down at the bar near the window to let the coffee cool. The lady came to us and told us to get out and that we cannot sit there because we ordered takeout coffee (which is the same as price as sit-in). We told her the coffee is too hot to hold and she still said "no please leave now"! Japanese customer service so far has been the best, but this place... I've never experienced such rudeness! spoiled my mood for the next couple of hours ?
