この桜はヤマザクラ系でオオシマザクラとヤマザクラが交雑したと推定される園芸品種です。
推定樹齢55年、樹高13m、数年前より悪性キノコ等が発生して枝の切断等で全体的に姿が小さくなりました。
地元の住人が勤務先の鮫洲から実生を持ち帰り、城の土塁址地に植えたのが、今も元気に毎年淡白色のハタザクラを見せてくれます。

 Azaka Hatsakura (Asamu Flag Cherry)
This cherry blossom is a Yamazakura strain and is a horticultural variety that is presumed to be a cross between Oshimazakura and Yamazakura.
Estimated age 55 years, tree height 13m, several years ago from malignant mushrooms and the like has occurred, and overall appearance has become smaller by cutting the branches.
The local residents brought back the seedlings from the coffin where they worked and planted them on the ground of the castle, but they still show us the pale white hatazakura every year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 急勾配のある坂沿いにあり、芝生と土からなる、バドミントンコートよりやや広め。カエルの手洗い場、背もたれありベンチ1つ、鉄棒がある。また、町内会館という建物(集会所？)がある。まわりには朝霞旗桜、つつじ、ヒバ系、雪柳などがある。
