I was curious about the "Kataha reeds" that were on the landing site of Shinran Saints at Itahama, but I didn't know the real thing and it was over. I parked my car in the parking lot of "Ita Shrine" and it was next to the torii gate. Meaning of "Kataha". "Reeds" usually have "staggered" leaves coming out of straight stems. However, the "reeds" that grow naturally here have leaves only from one side. I thought it was somebody's mischief, but it seems to be one of the "Seven Mysteries of Echigo". I wish there were more. Moreover, "reeds" that are not "Kataha" are also mixed.

When I looked up "one-leaf reeds", I found that "the reeds have only one leaf on one side due to the terrain and water flow. There are various legends that occur in each country due to their malformations. ”It seems that there are regions that can be seen all over the country. However, it seems that people in the old days did not think that it was something that was found in such places, but rather it was treated in a mysterious way. Let's take this as purely the legal power of Shinran saints.

This is one of the "Seven Mysteries of Echigo" in which the reeds in the precincts turned into one leaf overnight when the Shinran saint visited the Ita Shrine and prayed. At first I wondered if it was in the precincts, but I couldn't find it, and when I returned, I finally found it here. It was winter, but it was nice to see a little left. For some reason, it is also located at the Itagahama observatory. Did you plant it?
