本尊は厄神鬼王でのみと小槌で病根を削り取る厄除けの鬼。
節分の日に鬼を集めて改心させ、世間に戻すという珍しい法要を行う寺です。
なので豆まきも「鬼は内 福は外」だそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 本尊の「厄神鬼王〕は、インドの熱病除け鬼とのことです。
節分の豆まきでは、「鬼は内、福は外」と言って鬼を招き入れるそうです。
千蔵寺は以前清宝院と呼ばれていた。清海という人の開いた寺であったが、「新編武蔵風土記稿」には「湯殿山派の修験なり」と記されている。幕末には一時廃寺になり、俗人が住んでいたとされる。それを明治三十年（一八九七）頃から東京麻布から僧が来て現在に至る。千蔵寺は厄神として七鬼様を祀り、厄病除けの祈祷や方違えの占いをしている。厄神講として講社を結成、大師河原地区でも田町・出来野に講社ができている。五月二十四日が縁日で、年末には赤と青の厄神の祓いの幣束を持ってくる。またその年の星まわりを書いた札を配って歩く。講社は東京方面に多い。（川崎市史より引用）
