立派な楠が三本立っています。
神社に挨拶を済ませ、夫婦楠の由来が知りたくて、境内を探しましたが、見つからず、名古屋市の神社紹介を見ました。
曰く、「近くで農作業をしていた夫婦が、にわかに雷の音がしたため楠の下に隠れ、楠に雷が落ちて夫婦は助かった。感謝の想いで庭に楠を植えたところ、家運が上がり代々栄えたため、お礼としてこちらの神社に植え替えた」とのことでした。
たしかな由来は分かりませんでしたが、こういった遥か昔の話が口伝されている事や、今もってなお、小さいながらも厳格な雰囲気の保たれているこの場所に、日本の歴史の長さと深さと民族性が現れていると思いました。
