The burial mound is undergoing major remodeling for road expansion work. Now you can see the cross section of the precious burial mound. I think this is all right when I think of people buried, but it's a scenery that I can only see now. If possible, I would like you to keep the cross section of the burial mound as it is so that it can become a famous spot in Kokufu.

2 minutes walk from Meitetsu Kofu station. It is the largest keyhole-shaped tumulus in Higashi Mikawa with a total length of 96m and a height of 6.5m, which sits along the prefectural road in a place that is not strange even in the downtown area in front of the station. Although it is quite rare just because it is located in front of the station, there is now a big spectacle that is rarely seen in Japanese archeology (?). This is because a part of the tumulus (the edge of the tumulus) has been scraped off due to the road expansion, and the cross section is exposed! !! It's as if the skirt below the knee has become a miniskirt 20 cm above the knee. Most of the burial mounds have been designated as historic sites and development permission is not given, but probably because of this location, the prosperity of the area should make ancient people happy! It was firmly embedded in the city planning. However, as you can see from the fact that there was a national government office, it seems that this area has prospered since the tumulus (Yamato royal authority) era, and it is presumed that this tumulus also has a large burial mound at that time. Can I shave it! ?? The cross section of the tumulus has many layers, just like the millefeuille of a convenience store. I'm sure it was gradually built up over the years. When the road is completed, will this cross section be vegetated for conservation reasons or will be protected by slopes such as concrete spraying? If possible, I wonder if I can see it in the future by hardening the slope with a transparent resin such as acrylic or exhaust.
