★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 堀沿いにあるほとんどの桜が日露戦争の戦勝を記念して植えられた樹齢百数十年のソメイヨシノなのに対して、こちらは山形城の歴史と共にあったといえるほどの古木のエドヒガンザクラです。
お城だった時も、陸軍駐屯地だった時も、目の前がソフトボール場だった時もそこにありました。いつまでも元気でいて欲しいですね！
