★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 秋田から向かう場合は、トンネルの手前を左折して、しばらく進み踏切がみえたら左折したところに駐車スペースがあります。そちらから、海辺におりますと良く見れます。
If you're heading from Akita, turn left just before the tunnel, and after a while, you'll see a railroad crossing, where you'll find a parking space. From there, you can see it well at the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 岩の浸食のされ方が面白い。象岩の形は印象的であるし、周囲には奇妙な形の岩がたくさんある。地質図で見るとデイサイト地帯ということで、鯵ヶ沢の千畳敷あたりと地質の分類では同じなのに、岩の色彩も浸食の受け方もまるで違う。ここももし隆起すれば千畳敷と同じような風景が現れるのであろうか？
The way the rocks are eroded is interesting. The shape of the elephant rock is impressive, and there are many strangely shaped rocks around it. Looking at the geological map, it is a dacite area, so although the geological classification is the same as that of Ajigasawa's Senjojiki, the color of the rock and the way it is eroded are completely different. If it rises here, will a landscape similar to Senjojiki appear?
