★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice art museum that features a good mix of western and Japanese artists as well as classic and contemporary art. Unfortunately it was too chilly for me to look at the grounds which had many statues and sculptures but I'll go back another day to check them out

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited the museum with my husband and 3year-old daughter. And got strong feeling that the museum unofficially refuses small kids.. We've been never given this many precautions in public places before.
They asked us not to let go of our kid's hand, not to have her anything in her hand and etc.. even my daughter was already in my husband's arm when they tell us precautions, we felt so disturbing and guilty with the fact that we have a kid with us..
During at the exhibition room, we again was told from another staff member the same precautions we had already heard at the entrance..
Even considering that the museum keeps masterpieces and they need visitors to be cautious but this is excessive.
I've visited many other museums in Europe and have seen parents enjoying arts with their children, discussing about art pieces freely. I think that's how a museum achieve their most important goal, "to provide people with a place where art is blooming by educating and inspiring young generation"
In this term, i can say that this museum fails to do so.
My daughter looked on the verge of crying as even she didn't understand whole conversation we had with staff but she still understood overall meaning and tone that she was not welcomed.
We left the exhibition room soon but I should have left there even at the entrance when we had to hear the stupid restrictions they set to small kids..
Then we would have not hurt her feeling.
Please do not visit this place if you have a kid.
