Y	Yamakiya Shouzaemon on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 国道19号線「中津川市山口」の「道の駅賤母（しずも）」併設施設「東山魁夷（ひがしやまかいい）心の旅路館」（1994／平成6年に「東山魁夷」から版画作品約500点を寄贈され開館した美術館）前に建立された記念碑だ。「ローテンブルグ城シュピタール門」（ドイツローテンブルグ市）に刻まれた「PAX INTRANTIBVS SALVS EXEVNTIBVS（訪れる者には安らぎを　去りゆく人には安全を）」を「東山魁夷」が「歩み入る者に安らぎを　去りゆく人にしあわせを」と訳したことでひろく知られることとなった言葉が刻まれている。この言葉は「川端康成」が「ホテルオークラ」にふさわしい言葉として色紙でホテルに残したといわれ、また「群馬県吾妻郡草津町民憲章」に採用されている言葉だともいうが、この言葉と当地との所縁は「東山魁夷」が東京美術学校１年生（1926／昭和元年）の夏休みに、友人と「御嶽山（おんたけさん）」に登った旅に始まると言う。途中この地「賤母」（当時「長野県西筑摩郡山口村」現在「岐阜県中津川市山口」）で大変な夕立に遭遇し難渋した「東山魁夷」は、一夜の宿を求めた村はずれの農家から思いがけずうけた温かいもてなしに深く感じ入ったという。また、信州で知ることになった雄大な自然にも心打たれて風景画家への道を決心したといい、信州と結びつく第一歩がここに始まったという。 Prints from "Higashiyama Kaii Kokoro no Tabikan" (1994/1994), which is an annex facility of "Roadside Station Shizumo" on Route 19 "Yamaguchi, Nakatsugawa City" It is a monument erected in front of the museum, which was opened by donating about 500 works. It is said that "Kaii Higashiyama" begins his journey to climb "Mt. Ontake" with his friends during the summer vacation of the first year of Tokyo Fine Arts School (1926 / 1926). On the way, "Kaii Higashiyama", who had a hard time encountering a difficult evening rain in this place "Shizumo" (at that time "Yamaguchi Village, Nishi Chikuma District, Nagano Prefecture", now "Yamaguchi, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture"), was on the outskirts of the village seeking an overnight inn. It is said that he was deeply impressed by the warm hospitality unexpectedly received from the farmers. In addition, he said that he decided to become a landscape painter because he was impressed by the magnificent nature that he learned in Shinshu, and that the first step to connect with Shinshu began here.
