★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山形県で一番大きい駅です。newdaysも2店舗あります。一つは山形新幹線ホームに出店中でもう一方はホテルに併設されています。発車メロディも2つあってワンマン運転以外で必ず鳴ります。
It is the largest station in Yamagata prefecture. There are also 2 newdays stores. One is open on the Yamagata Shinkansen platform and the other is attached to the hotel. There are also two departure melody, which always sounds except for one-man operation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 蔵王駅から米沢駅方面に向かう高校生が、蔵王駅から山形駅まで乗ってきて、降りずに電車を利用する人が多い。乗ろうとすると1番前に並んでいても座れることが少ない。
16時の電車は折り返しなのでこーゆー乗り方をする人に辞めるよう言って欲しい。
Many high school students heading from Zao Station to Yonezawa Station get on the train from Zao Station to Yamagata Station and use the train without getting off. When I try to get on, I rarely sit in front of me.
The train at 16:00 is a turnaround, so please tell the person who rides this way to quit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山形県随一のターミナル駅です。しかし山形から仙台は意外と近く、山形新幹線の時間がうまく合わない場合や満席の場合は、いったん仙山線で仙台にでて東北新幹線に乗ってしまうのも手ですね。
駅は百貨店みたいな商業施設と合体しているので、おみやげ物や弁当調達などについては大変べんりです。
It is the best terminal station in Yamagata prefecture. However, it is surprisingly close to Sendai from Yamagata, and if the time on the Yamagata Shinkansen does not match well or if it is full, it is a good idea to take the Senzan Line to Sendai and then take the Tohoku Shinkansen.
The station is integrated with a commercial facility like a department store, so it's very convenient to procure souvenirs and bento boxes.
