It is one of the burial mounds belonging to the Iinosaka burial mound, a nationally designated historic site located at the eastern end of the Aijima hill, and is a front-back burial mound. Like other tumuli, it is said to have been built in the early to middle Kofun period. The Iinozaka burial mounds are lined up almost in a straight line, and the Yakushido burial mounds are located on the easternmost side.
It is located between Tatekoshi Station and Natori Station, so if you go on foot, it is recommended that you also visit the surrounding tumuli and Raijinyama Kofun.

There is a stone stairway to Yakushido burial mounds, one of five Iinosaka burial mounds, right in front of the bus natoririnkankan line Kyoumeikanji. Go through the Yakushido Sanmon Gate and you will see the Yakushido stunningly in the cedar forest at the 74th level, and if you walk a little to the left, you can see the Natorigaoka residential area and the Haruka Zao mountain range. This place is "the largest forward and backward mound in the Iinosaka burial mound group, Yakushido burial mound, total length 66 m".
To the south is the largest Tohoku mountain tomb in Tohoku (Circle at the back, approximately 170 km) connected by a walking path. Imagine and enjoy the ancient tumulus period (4th-5th centuries) away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
