周辺の雰囲気も良く、入山前から森林浴の薫りがする。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ｢八幡広場」は城下町・宿場町(宿)の町並みや自然をゆっくり散策して楽しむ起点であり終点である古城地区の中心地です。
芝生の広場や遊歩道が整備され、親子連れや高齢者同士の楽しい遊び、社交場です。｢八幡広場」は若桜鬼ケ城跡への登山口となっています。
そんな訳で広場へ来ました。山の麓に広がる平坦な広場で歩くによし、ジョギングによし、玉を転がすによし、何をするにも絶好な場所です。
参考までに自動車ルートで城山頂までは龍徳寺の横を通過して(城山林道)に至ります。途中未舗装になる道を更に進むと城の馬場に到着。ここから徒歩で15分位で山頂です。
城の堀や曲輪、石垣などをゆっくり見るには｢八幡広場登山口」からの散策がお勧めです。
八幡広場の敷地の様子から勝手な想像ですが、ここに以前の武家屋敷や旅籠等があったのでは？、近くに町役場の建物が見えています。
“Yawata Square” is the center of the old castle district, which is the starting point and the end point of enjoying a leisurely stroll through the streets and nature of the castle town and post town.
A lawn plaza and a promenade are maintained, and it is a fun place for parents and children and for the elderly, and a social space. “Hachiman Square” is the starting point for the trail of Wakasakura Oniga Castle.
That ’s why I came to the square. It's a great place to do anything by walking on a flat square at the foot of the mountain, by jogging or rolling a ball.
For your reference, take the car route to the top of Shiroyama and go next to Ryotokuji (Shiroyama Forest Road). If you proceed further along the dirt road, you will arrive at the castle's Baba. It is the mountaintop in about 15 minutes on foot from here.
It is recommended to take a stroll from the “Hachiman Plaza Mountain Entrance” in order to see the castle moat, curved wheels and stone walls slowly.
You can imagine from the state of the site of Yawata Square, but was there a previous samurai residence or a traveler here? You can see the town hall building nearby.
