”薄川第一発電所は明治３２年１２月に発電を開始し、この時初めて松本平に電気の燈がともりました。
当時の人々の「水から燈が出るわけがない」という驚きが目に見えるようです。当社創立３０周年にあたり、この貴重な文化の足跡を残すため、松本市長 和合正治氏の直筆により記念碑を設置いたしました。なお記念碑の土合石は薄川第一発電所建設当時の基礎石を使用したのもです。”
１００年以上前に遠くドイツから運ばれ、松本に燈をともしています。

The stone used for the monument was the foundation stone used when the Susukigawa Daiichi Power Station was constructed. ”
