Osaka station is located at one of two biggest downtown cores, Umeda. This may make you be confused. JR Osaka station is completely same as Umeda station.In fact, the 2 stations are geologically nearby. You can transfer JR trains and other trains at Osaka and Umeda stations. JR Osaka station is located in Umeda area. Only JR station is named Osaka. Other railways’ stations are called Umeda. To me, Umeda stations is same place as JR Osaka station. I like the restaurant street near station! also, you can travel to anywhere within Osaka or even Kyoto....

Read the notice/sign at the platforms carefully if you’re not familiar because there are many lines. There are express and semi-express trains;express trains stop at selected stations only so check your route before boarding.

E	Eugene Nyunt on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the first things I noticed when I got off the Midosuji line at Umeda - apart from the rush hour throng of people - was the rather pretty looking ceiling, sparkling like jewels. This station is connected to Osaka station and a plethora of shopping complexes, which makes it infuriating to navigate. The first thing I saw when I eventually exited through the ticket gates was a bakery affiliated to a department store. And what a relief when I finally got outside into the open air.
