T	Takashi Yamashita on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 植大（うえだい）という不思議な駅名だが、大学名を短縮したものではなくて、昔の地名2つを合わせたもののようだ。現在は阿久比町なのだが、阿久比駅は別にあるので敢えて昔の名前をそのまま使っているようだ。駅の近くにシネマやアピタがあるので、買い物などの乗客が利用するようだ。駅は相対式ホーム2面2線。普通列車のみが停車する。平日の日中は4本／時なのだが、休日は2本／時と不便になる。隣の阿久比駅は特急や急行も停車するし、それらと普通との乗り換えができる。構内踏切があるので、下り方面行の列車に乗る場合は早めに行かないと踏切が締まって乗れなくなるので注意。 It's a mysterious station name called Uedai, but it's not a shortened version of the university name, but it seems to be a combination of two old place names.
