The trails around the pond take you past dozens of massive boulders, remnants of the huge landslide that created this pond. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy forest walks. In May the wisteria vines around the pond bloom, adding a nice splash of violet to the forest. This pond seems to get a lot of salty reviews from people who either don't appreciate nature or don't understand how that flowers don't always bloom when we want them to. Don't pay attention to the haters, it's definitely worth stopping by. Note: There is a tea house by the pond, but it is sadly no longer in use. The public restroom near the entrance is reasonably maintained and open throughout the season. The pond is inaccessible in winter due to snowfall, but you could probably get there with snowshoes if you really wanted to.
