味も濃すぎて美味しくない。
カウンターが狭く、冬に行ったので寒くてしょうがなかった。
The store manager is the worst. It was not fun to say to hear the bad words of the child who went upstairs during the break.
The taste is too thick and not delicious.

常連さんと話が弾んでいても疎外感を感じないというか、程よい感じでほっといてくれるので私にはちょうどよかった。
変に馴れ馴れしくされても引きますが、常連だけと仲よくされても(´・ω・｀)となる面倒くさい私たちに程よい距離感。
お酒も食事もちょっとしか頼めなかったのに大きい麦茶を運んでくれ、長居させてくれました。
単品でお魚料理と揚げ物を頼みましたが、揚げ物はなんだったかな…ちょっと珍しいものだったのですが美味しかったです（笑）
地元っぽさありつつ、でも地元でもこれ揚げちゃうかーってものだったのですが、記憶がどっかに行きました。
突き出しの小鉢も美味しかったのに、何が入っていたのか思い出せず…思い出せたら書き直しますm(_ _)m
お魚はスタンダードに美味しかったです。
刺し身ではないので鮮度については分かりませんが、何かひと工夫がある感じ。
決して綺麗なお店ではありません。
お店自体が古い作りなので人によってはそれが汚いと感じるかもしれません。
でも細かいところを見ると掃除はきちんと行き届いているなと感じました。
ひざ掛けや予備の暖房もあったので、女性客が意外と多いのかなと。
お店や店主さんの見た目は地元のおじさんとか気取らない男性客ウェルカムな感じに思えましたが、そういった気遣いが自然にされてるお店だったので女性のみの来店でもゆっくりくつろげました。

The shop itself is old, so some people may find it dirty.
But when I saw the details, I felt that the cleaning was perfect.
I guessed that there were surprisingly many female customers because there were throws and extra heating.
The shop and the owner seemed to be welcomed by local uncles and unpretentious male customers, but it was a shop where such care was taken care of naturally, so I was able to relax slowly even when visiting women only.

大将をはじめ、スタッフの方々のお人柄…あっさりした料理からガッツリ系の料理まで、何人かで入っても先ず不満の出ないお店で1人で入っても疎外感のない暖かさを感じ尾道ではお好み焼き屋さんの「手毬」と同じくらい外せないお店です。

今の季節だからだろうか？蒸し牡蠣が美味であった。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arriving late to Onimichi we had trouble finding a place that was still serving dinner. Luckily we stumbled across this little gem and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of our entire honeymoon in Japan. The owner and chef, Saitou Shunsuke, made it clear when we walked in that he didn't have an English menu and couldn't speak English very well but we just told him to serve us whatever he wanted to and it was the best decision ever. He even accommodated my wife's pescatarian diet perfectly while simultaneously serving me a handful of delicious meat dishes (thank you Google Translator). We sat at the bar with a bunch of locals and by the end of the night, many beers and sakes later, we felt like we had made a bunch of new friends. What an amazingly authentic Japanese experience for two travelers thousands and thousands of miles away from home. I hope we will be able to go back and see Saitou Shunsuke and the rest of these friends again one day.
