Saruishi is more famous. It seems to be the grave of Kibihime, the mother of Empress Saimei. Became the grandson of Emperor Kinmei and grandmother of Emperor Tenchi and Emperor Tenmu. Emperor Saimei seems to have made many stone objects, so I think it would be interesting if Saruishi was like that.

Burial: Kibihime Kibihime is said to be a member of the Asuka era. Princess of Sakurai (the 29th prince of Emperor Kinmei), later became the princess of King Kayagi (the son of Hikoto Oshisaka) ), and the light king (the 36th Emperor Kotoku). Inside the mausoleum, there were four unique statues of human faces called monkey stones. However, it seems that the monkey stone motif is not a monkey, but an immigrant. Worship: 2020/07/13

It is said to be the tomb of Princess Kibihime, the mother of Empress Saimei, and a stone object called a monkey stone is also placed here from a sculpture like a monkey excavated from a nearby paddy field. It is said that Emperor Saimei made many stones with Asuka.

I think the person who named the stone structure, which is obviously not a monkey, a monkey stone has an outstanding naming sense.

The burial mound itself is not large, but it is an interesting place with monkey stones placed inside the fence.

There were four stone statues in a place famous for monkey stones. It's hard to see because it's surrounded by a cage, but you can get close to it. Mandarin oranges were enshrined. I'm glad if you can press useful ✨

These were found near a Kibihime-no-Miko (a royal princess) Tomb, but their purpose is unknown. Noted on my wonder-tips site.
