★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lot of unique items in one store. It was great to explore and shop for backpacks that are different and not as common. I managed to buy a backpack for 9,000 yen (paying with credit card so it comes out to be a bit over $80). You will need to go across the street to get the taxes back. The cashier will give you a paper to let you know how to redeem it. I recommend going at night around 6pm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tokyu Hands has always been a well-loved store for me. It has a little bit of everything. Toys, electronics, personal care, household items, stationery, etc.
What I think is good about this branch is the fact that the store is smaller in size (floor area) which makes browsing through their merchandise easier and faster.
However, this is also a downside in that, it has a fewer selection of items compared to the other bigger branches.
The store is conveniently located in the central business district with a bus station around a minute's walk away.
Another issue: Foreigners will have to settle their tax exempt purchases in the neighboring Daimaru mall which is a good three minute walk.
The staff were their usual friendly and helpful selves but were not too eager so as to disrupt people who wished to shop in peace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another place where you can spend hours upon hours browsing without needing to buy a thing. Although it is very likely that you will walk out this store having done the exact opposite.
This particular Tokyu store has multiple levels and each one covers a certain category of products like cosmetics and health, travel luggage and related, office supplies and books, and an awesome DIY section. I spent an enormous amount of time at the pens, paper, and related accessories selection. I love their selection of pens and had to restrain myself from buying every pen that I laid my eyes on.
My YEA and I explored each of the floors thoroughly to find any deals or must-have items. It was a very fun experience shopping and i don’t normally say that about shopping.
I am on a never-ending quest to find the perfect pen and although Tokyu Hands pen section got me a little closer, the search continues!
Japan seems to understand how to create, design, and sustain department stores that attract people through the doors and Tokyu Hands will not disappoint.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I liked this departmental store. I can actually afford the things here. The kitchen department stocks the run of the mill everyday use kitchen utensils and etc.
We find these Japanese bath salts that we have tried since. A fraction of the cost of what you get at Lush and more environmentally friendly without the sparkles. Works just as well.
You can also have things like leather coin pouch, ID label holders made to order. The stationery section was also worth a browse.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I could spend all day here. DIY , leather, fabric etc. almost anything DIY pp could wish for. It is opposite Daimaru Kyoto. For tax refund, you must get your receipt to Daimaru to get refunded tax.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's so big and clean! The floor is labeled in sections: A, B, C, D etc. There are 4 floors in total, and there are so many goodies. We spent a good amount of time here! You can find toilets almost on every floor. Very nice!
